PixelLab: where ideas become real

Jess Short |

there’s a big difference between seeing event technology and actually experiencing it.

You can describe an interactive installation in a presentation. You can watch a video of the latest tech in action. You can look at renders and imagine how it might work in a space.

But experiential technology is designed to be experienced.

That thinking is at the heart of PixelLab, our Experience Centre at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London: a space we’ve created for innovation, hands-on discovery and, importantly, the opportunity to see, touch and properly understand experiential technology in a live environment.

moving ideas beyond slides and screens

Across Pixelhouse Group, we design and deliver interactive experiences for some of the world’s biggest brands.

From Smart Object Interaction tables and large-scale touch installations to immersive content, photo experiences and responsive environments, there are more ways than ever for brands to create experiences that capture attention and drive engagement.

PixelLab brings those possibilities together in one physical space.

Instead of showing you a concept and asking you to imagine the interaction, we can put the technology in front of you.

You can touch it. Test it. See how it responds. Understand how people naturally interact with it. And, crucially, start exploring what it could become for your own audience or environment.

because experiential should be experienced

When you’re designing something specifically to change the way people interact with a physical space, there’s only so much you can understand from behind a laptop.

What makes someone stop?

What encourages them to interact?

What makes the experience intuitive rather than intimidating?

And what turns a few seconds of attention into something memorable?

Those details become much easier to understand when you can experience the technology for yourself.

PixelLab gives our clients the freedom to do exactly that, without needing to wait until an installation is already on-site.

more than a showroom

We deliberately designed PixelLab to be more than somewhere we demonstrate technology.

It’s a space for creativity and collaboration.

A place where our teams, clients and partners can sit down together, talk through ideas and experiment with different approaches.

You might arrive with a detailed brief and want to understand which technologies could bring it to life. You might have an initial idea that needs developing. Or you might simply want to explore what’s possible and see where the conversation takes you.

We can experiment with an existing interaction, adapt it to a different audience or environment, combine technologies, or start exploring an entirely new experience.

Because while the technology matters, the real question is always the same:

How can we use it to create something people genuinely want to engage with?

bringing innovation into London

The location of PixelLab was just as deliberate as the space itself.

We chose the Business Design Centre in Islington because we wanted to work even closer to our clients and bring this kind of experimentation into the heart of London.

It’s well connected, easy to access and already home to some of the industry’s most respected events and exhibitions.

For us, it feels like a natural place to bring brands, agencies and our team together to explore what experiential technology can do.

And having a permanent space means those conversations don’t have to begin and end with a presentation.

They can begin with the experience itself.

come with an idea. Or just come curious.

If you work in marketing, events or brand experience, we’d love to welcome you to PixelLab.

Come with a brief you want to explore.

Come with a challenge you’re trying to solve.

Come with an idea scribbled down after a meeting.

Or simply come because you want to see what’s possible.

We’ll show you the technology, let you get hands-on with it and explore together how it could be adapted to create something distinctive for your audience.

Because if you really want to understand what experiential can do, don’t just tap through it online. Step into it.
